Through trace, transposition, and re-interpretation, my work employs drawing, sculpture, and sound engaged in an open-ended investigation of the intersections of human and non-human ecologies. My current work considers the holocene extinction’s erasure of species, through representing and re-contextualizing the meticulous and delicate structures animals build to both capture as well as to shelter.
Interlocking positive and negative shapes compete for the foreground. Darker areas suggest distant space as if glimpsed through a screen, web, or nest. From the center the marks fade, evaporating from the surface, extinguishing the illusion of a space beyond the screen.
