In my work, I seek to compress ideas of the momentary with the momentous. Five years ago, I was medically isolated and longing for my home in the high mountain desert of Idaho. My emergence from this isolation left me with a new relationship to my surroundings and body and this picture comes from that experience. Miniscule, invisible or imagined forces changed the way I interacted with the world and those around me. This painting was made over the years since my return and completed just before the new virus pushed us all inside again.
